KATHMANDU- A probe panel has been formed to investigate upon the remarks of  Kathmandu Police Chief and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramesh Kharel given on senior police officers in a public programme.

Speaking at a public programme organised at the Academy Hall in Kathmandu on Saturday, SSP Kharel had remarked that the Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) had been approaching the ‘power centers’ with briefcases for their promotion to the post of Assistant Inspector General (AIG).

A three-member committee has been formed under the leadership  of DIG Bigyan Raj Sharma of Police headquarters stating that Kharel, being in a responsible post, broke the organisational chain of command by speaking against the officials of the organisation.
